Futures & Fantasy Exhibition

 

The Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) invites work in all mediums related to the theme "Futures & Fantasy".

1. That is to be, become, or happen; likely or expected to exist or occur in a time to come. Of a plan, proposal, etc.: relating to a time to come.

 

fan·ta·sy | /ˈfan-tə-sē/

noun

or less commonly, phantasy

1. the power or process of creating especially unrealistic or improbable mental images in response to psychological need. also : a mental image or a series of mental images (such as a daydream)
2. a creation of the imagination such as
    a. an idea that is far removed from reality : a chimerical or fantastic notion
    b. imaginative fiction featuring especially strange settings and grotesque characters

 

If you are questioning if your work fits - it does. Any fantasy or fantastic, futuristic or future act and imagining is a creative next step. Reimaginings of new visions. All works count: make something all new or inspired by.
 

Details:

A non-juried exhibition for both members and non-members. Artists may submit up to 3 entries for consideration. All media is accepted.

 

Application Instructions:

  1. Fill out the below form and submit payment.

  2. Then, email high-resolution images of your work and the below details to: submissions@babylonarts.org with “Futures & Fantasy” in the subject line. All submissions must be sent as an email by Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 11:59PM; Google Drive links are welcome.

  3. BACCA staff will be in touch via email on August 5th to notify you about which of your works have been selected for exhibition. All artwork must be dropped off on August 6th or 7th. 2-Dimensional work should be ready to hang.

 

Details to include:
Please include the following information in your email body: 

  1. Artist Name

  2. Your social media handles (optional); a link to your website (optional)

Please include the following information in your email body for *each submission:

  1. Title of Work

  2. Media (Materials)

  3. Dimensions

  4. Indicate if the artwork is for sale. If so, please include the price and a contact email address or phone number. Viewers will be asked to contact you directly for details. 

  5. A short artwork description (less than 140 characters, optional)

 

Artist Agreement

By submitting work to BACCA’s exhibition, artists agree to allow the accepted works and submitted documentation to be used for publicity and for educational and archival purposes. Artworks may be shared on social media platforms with the artist’s credit. Artists will retain the rights to their work published on the BACCA website and platforms. Entry to the exhibition constitutes agreement to all conditions.
