Recycled and Found - International Mixed Media Virtual Arts Exchange and Exhibition
Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) and Sognare Insieme Viaggi are partnering to invite artists to participate in an international arts exchange: a shared virtual arts exhibition in partnership with artists from Calabria, Italy and from Long Island, NY and the Greater NY Metro area. Together, we invite artists to compose mixed media artworks from unconventional found materials, creating beauty from what has been discarded.
Calabria, Italy, and Long Island, New York, are two regions with artists who desire to connect and to imagine and work toward a brighter future through environmental stewardship.
Materials may include but are not limited to: found materials such as plastic waste, reclaimed metal, and paper.
All activities will take place virtually.
This exhibition aims to:
• Form a diverse and representative organizing committee consisting of artists, curators, and professionals from both Italy and the USA.
• Inspire viewers to reconsider the value of everyday items and encourage sustainable practices through artistic expression.
• Encourage collaborative work, the exchange of ideas, and establish a unique framework for international arts and ideas exchange.
• Encourage collaborating artists and exhibition viewers to become agents of change in their own communities.
