BACCA and Project9line proudly sponsored their second Annual Art Show open to all Veterans and Active Duty Military. This program showcased the artistic talent of the men and woman who serve or have served our country. In addition to the Art Show, there was an author’s lecture by Byron Nernoff about his book, “Memories from the Attic,” depicting childhood memories of his family. Mr. Nernoff is also a proud Veteran. Jack Biello is a popular author who has written several books. His novel, “The Bonds of War” depicts the struggles between a father who served in WWII on the USS Juneau and his son who served in Vietnam. Both the Art Show and Lectures were a tremendous success among the community, and this event was well attended and free to the public.

BACCA would like to thank Marge Ryan, Project9line Executive Director, and Carol Wirth, of the Vets Center in Babylon, for their part in bringing these events to the public. Project9line focuses on bridging the communication gap between Veterans and civilians. This positive approach enables all Veterans to express themselves uniquely through many forms of art. The arts have inspired these men and women to use their creativity, and to allow the healing process their talent affords them to enrich their lives. The success of this show was largely due to their talent.

BACCA looks forward to continue these events in the future and to support our Veteran’s for their contributions to the arts and to our country.
